* "Operational certainty has been achieved by fi nalising contractual relationships with governments, network operators, regulators and other required parties. These provide exclusive access for Plus SMS to the number ranges required for the routing of SMS messages worldwide using a single short number. To this end, I am happy to advise that we now have over 1000 numbers or ‘properties’ under contract to Plus SMS. These properties are what we refer to as ‘vanity’ SMS number ranges. Because of this global property portfolio, any corporate or product (brand) in any country can access millions of mobile customers anywhere using a mobile Plus SMS vanity number. Providing immediate international access, these single dedicated short codes also cover a wide range of generic codes in the transportation, entertainment and hospitality industries, for example +TAXI, +BET, +HOTEL. Beyond brand and generic codes, there is a never ending opportunity for universal codes which comprise simple number combination like +3456 and which can likewise be used to reach transnational audiences. These numbers enable users to break down the territory barriers by offering a ubiquitous network able to deliver content and services to most parts of the globe, at the same time offering the reliability of the traditional incumbent networks. This is made possible by working with some of the world’s leading technology partners using a new hub-based structure, developed by the GSM Association, to support cross SMS traffi c that dramatically reduces the time and complexity of establishing interworking agreements by mobile operators on a worldwide basis. The GSMA established the hub-based structure in response to the massive growth in text messages, of which more than a trillion were sent worldwide in 2005. This sustained growth and vitality in the SMS market resulted in operators establishing bi-lateral interworking hubbing arrangements with each other. This hubbing structure means that operators only have to connect once to a hub to reach all the other networks connected to that hub. Then, through interconnect arrangements between hubs, they are able to reach operators connected to other hubs. This is a new environment in which Plus SMS can only flourish. It enables us to operate at the highest level of quality, while also providing certainty and excellence in security, billing and settlement processes. Plus SMS has been quick to embrace this leading edge technology and already we have finalised a hubbing agreement with Hong Kong based Citic Telecom 1616 Ltd and have discussions underway with a number of hubbing organisations to conclude additional hubbing agreements. The Citic relationship gives the company and its resellers direct access to mobile operators throughout China. Because Citic is such a powerful interconnection telecom platform, this hubbing deal simultaneously gives us access as well to other parts of the Asia-Pacifi c region, the United States and Europe. Along with the hubbing arrangements, and also because of them, the market is increasingly becoming aware of the manifold applications and potential of the Plus SMS products and is willing to pay a good price for the benefits our products can deliver."
