"Pfg’s principal activity is the provision of property related finance via its wholly owned subsidiary propertyfinance securities limited. We are pleased to advise shareholders that with effect from 3 July 2006, Avon Investments Limited (“AIL”) is to be renamed:   The company has been allocated a new code, “PFG”, by the New Zealand Stock Exchange. The new name more accurately reflects the business as it has evolved over the past 24 months and will remove many misconceptions and confusion with the AIL name. As we have previously advised shareholders, propertyfinance has changed significantly from when the Company was formed in 2001.
Today propertyfinance securities limited is more accurately described as a non-bank lender because it:

  •         Serves everyday property borrowers across the country

  •          Only makes first mortgage loans

  •          Lends at bank-linked levels of risk

  •          Lends at bank-linked interest rates

  •          Has loans that have an average expected life of between 2-7 years

  •          Markets a range of branded loan products that are distributed easily by mortgage brokers and others

  •          Obtains low-cost, off-balance sheet finance from institutions via securitisation programmes

  •          Follows successful overseas business models."
