has designed and built a bus tracking system that allows a bus passenger
to find out how far away their bus is, in real time. Bus passengers can
access the information from street-side touchscreen displays, plasma and
LCD displays in malls and shop windows, on public websites, and through
their cell phones. Since it has been installed in Christchurch, passenger
numbers have risen by 50% and in Auckland, where it was purchased for
Tourism Holdings Ltd's airbus service, bus passenger numbers rose by 18%
in the first year. Its systems are now operating in Sydney Australia;
Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand; Southampton, Reading, and
Manchester in the UK; Guangzhou, China; Forteleza, Brazil; Oregon,
California, Maryland and Arlington in the US. Connexionz has received
enquiries all over the world and is promoting its system in the UK and USA
in particular."
